RIOFONIC: The latest album from Mafalda Minnozzi was produced by celebrated New York guitarist and arranger Paul Ricci and recorded in Rio de Janeiro, where Mafalda’s deep dive into Brazilian music first took root.

Over her illustrious career, singer and composer Mafalda Minnozzi has become a singular force in global jazz, blending Italian melodrama, French chanson, American classics and the Brazilian songbook and its rhythms, into a sound uniquely her own. RIOFONIC reflects her deep connection to Brazil’s vibrant music scene with contributions from some of Brazil’s top musicians and personalities—including Roberto Menescal, Jaques Morelenbaum, and Kassin. The album captures the energy, and reveals some of the mystery, that her decades long residency in Brazil has instilled in her. RIOFONIC is her musical manifesto dedicated to the heart and soul of Rio’s rich musical tradition.

The impeccable musicianship here is a testament to the caliber of artists involved.
